Sunita Bhambhani Shah, Overseas Director of MEPL International LLC, a member of the New Silk Road Network from the UAE, was recently featured in the “She Means Business” magazine, a part of Gulf News, on October 30, 2026. The interview covers the company’s expansion plans, its response to shifting trade conditions, and her views on leadership in global logistics.
Shah said MEPL’s vision is to expand its international reach through strategic business alliances and product development. The company looks for markets where customers need responsive freight solutions backed by strong local knowledge. She noted that emerging trade corridors offer opportunities, but that market selection must follow customer demand and long-term vision. Her stated priority is to build MEPL into “a global brand capable of delivering consistent service across borders.”

On shifting trade routes and geopolitical uncertainty, Shah said logistics now demands far more agility, since disruptions can quickly affect cost, routing and delivery expectations. Customers increasingly want clear communication and practical alternatives. She stressed that no two regions or shipments are alike, so every solution must be tailored.
MEPL handles a wide range of cargo, from engineering and industrial goods to FMCG and oil and gas products, and its services span air, sea, land, warehousing, multimodal, NVOCC and container solutions. The company serves global clients and specializes in the GCC, CIS and Eurasia regions.
Reflecting on her leadership journey, Shah said international logistics demands confidence, adaptability and the ability to work across cultures and time zones. These demands have shaped her approach: listening carefully, communicating clearly and building credibility through consistent delivery. She expressed hope that the next generation of women will see global logistics as a field where they can build expertise and businesses and develop solution-oriented leadership.
