In an astounding logistics and project handling feat, New Silk Road Network’s UAE-based member MEPL International LLC (MEPL) has successfully managed a colossal 110-ton air export from Dubai to Almaty. MEPL managed this project in collaboration with their partner from Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The cargo comprised 250 units of vital medical equipment, including medical beds, incubators, anaesthesia machines, and infant warmers. These pieces of equipment were to be delivered before December 31, 2023, to various Government Hospitals as follows:
The project involved significant reworking and repacking, as the cargo that originated from China came as Full Container Loads (FCLs). Eleven 40FT containers made their way from China to Jebel Ali Port (Dubai); from there, MEPL took over the complete cargo transportation from the port to the temporary storage location, then to Dubai Airport, where the equipment made its way per airfreight to Almaty.
Due to the delicate nature of these items, ensuring secure and safe transit was imperative, necessitating the reworking and repacking of the cargo. The initial challenge in this project was securing enough space in a medically licensed warehouse within Dubai, as only a limited number of free zones are authorised to import and store medical equipment. However, MEPL, leveraging its extensive network, successfully imported the cargo and ensured its safe storage.

The reworking process involved meticulously repacking 910 cartons, which was performed efficiently by their own operational team, who completed the assignment within four working days. MEPL also obtained special permission to work on a UAE National Holiday to meet the short delivery time and avoid substantial penalties. Despite dimensional and space constraints, most of the cargo was airlifted through three freighter flights. The cargo was transported by their trusted partner, Turkish Airlines, which is known for its service in the CIS region.
